There have been a few posts in the recent past about how to post pictures. You may find them by searching, but as I write this I realize we should probably have a picture tutorial posted as a sticky too, since this is asked about fairly often. We'll work on doing that ASAP!

For small-resolution pictures, the forum has a function for attaching photos to posts that is easy to use. When you are creating a post or a reply, if you look in the "Additional Options" area directly below the text box where you're typing your post, you will see an "Attach Files" section with a box that says "Manage Attachments". If you click on that it will open up a box where you can upload images that then appear attached to the bottom of your post, looking like this.

For larger pictures that you would like to insert in-line in your post, the picture first needs to be hosted on an external site, for example, a photo account (imgur, photobucket, etc), or a blog, etc. Then, once your photo is uploaded to the host site, you need to copy the direct URL for the location of it on that site -- usually this is provided when you upload the photo, or you can get it by right-clicking on the full version of the picture and choosing "copy image location". Then click on the little yellow icon of a photograph above the text box for your post, paste that URL you copied when it asks for it, and your picture will appear. Inserting pictures this way looks like this.

Member 745 TurboGreasel described another method here the other day that you may try as well if it seems more straightforward, this assumes you already have the photos hosted elsewhere.
