Default 1987 745 Turbo Diesel Auto

Location: Kennewick, WA
Price: $4200 obo possible trade

After much thought I have decided that I will offer my 1987 745 up for sale. It is the wagon that Anders did the engine build on a few months ago. The body is extremely solid and runs excellent. I have read that the true way to evaluate engine health was to see how well the car starts when warm without any glow plugs. As expected this car will fire off one crank after I have been in the store for nearly an hour without the use of any glow plugs. I have recently replaced the radiator with a quality brand new Aluminum radiator and I have been changing the oil with full synthetic and K&N oil filter. The alignment has been dialed in by Sears a few months ago and the tires balanced by Les Schwab. The windows have been newly tinted with 20% in the rear and 35% in the front so everything is legal and looks really nice. Honestly it does not need anything right now to be an excellent daily driver for many miles to come. Runs really well with traffic and has plenty of power for hills, passing, cruising, and stop and go.

Now you all may be wondering why would I sell this car…well, the truth is that I could use some extra money more than I need a Diesel Volvo at the moment. The car is an excellent car and it has all the finishing touches that make it a very nice daily driver.

What am I interested in??

I would prefer cash as the method of bartering however….I know that posting to the forum it may be safe to say that some may have a vehicle to trade. Let me know what you may have, I would consider something like a 4WD let me know what you have.. but it would need to be in reasonable condition (something that I can drive) or just a straight cash deal.

As far as a price I think that it is difficult to set a price because it is a rare vehicle and does have an honest rebuild which is the reason I decided to get the car. I feel that a fair price would be $4200 obo.

Let me know what you think PM or post and let’s see what happens. I will be adding pictures soon, just need to find some time.

Here is a link to the CL ad. I had trouble adding pics to the forum...they are just crummy phone pics I took on my lunch break. I will give it a bath and take some pics with a real camera soon.

I didn't know you could dial in the alignment on a 740
but I've liked the black n tint color on these since I was a kid, nice looking car.

Right click on the pic in your ad, *COPY IMAGE LOCATION*
In your post type '[img][/img]'
move the cursor between those words and *paste*
A magic picture will appear.

Sold to a Volvo/Diesel aficionado. He did say that he plans to join the forum, so I believe the 745 will stay in the D24T family!

Hanomag, sorry to see you leaving the fold, but glad to hear the wagon found a good home, hope it stays in the community.
