Default Feb 16th, XXX Swedish Cruise-In, Issaquah WA

The date for the 2014 Swedish Cruise-In at XXX Root Beer has been set for Sunday, February 16. This is always a great show with a large attendance of Volvos, both new and old. A couple of years ago we had a good showing of diesels, with almost 10 D24 or D24T cars in attendance from WA and OR. It would be great to get a good group of diesel owners together again this year.

I'll be there with either my 744 or maybe my 760, if I can fix the puking steering rack in time.

Who else is going to make it?

I would love to see it there all cleaned up and shiny...

George- Is Dan going to show up in the freshly swapped D24T 240?

Default This Weekend

Reminder that this event will be occuring this coming weekend, on Sunday, from 10am to 4pm. Hope to see anyone there who can make it out!

Information about venue and location:
http://www.triplexrootbeer.com/

Info about the show:
http://psvsa.org/

There's no cost to enter a car, though plan on being tempted by the good food and drink available at the end of the parking lot.

Event is rain or shine, and unfortunately heavy rain is predicted for Sunday; this is February in the Northwest so rain gear required! I am planning to be there at least for a little while regardless of the weather. If nothing else, we can sit inside and eat.

Anders, Dan is hoping to make it with the 244TD -- should be at least us three with diesels, and maybe a couple folks from Oregon. I checked with Scott and Taylor (77Volvo245); they are going to be coming up but sounds like they will be in a gasser this year.

Default Diesels parking next to each other

I will be there, should be showing up before 10am. I would like to see all the diesels that will be in the show to park next to each other. I dont know if its frowned upon but maybe having the first guy with a diesel park in a spot where there are a few spots and if so holding them for the rest of us. Just a thought. See everybody there tomorrow rain or shine.

Yep, hoping we'll be able to park as a group. I haven't heard confirmation from Anders in the last few days that he will be able to make it but I'm assuming he will be there. I talked to Hanomag and he unfortunately had a conflict so won't be able to make it. Ngoma said he would be a possibility.

If you get there on the early side before it's crowded, I doubt anyone will have a problem with you holding a few adjacent spaces. I will probably leave Seattle about 9:45-10:00 so should arrive before 10:30.

I also will be bringing... drumroll... some D24T.com window stickers which I will be happy to hand out! I still have about five from Jason's original batch that I set aside with the idea of using as templates for a new run of stickers, but that has not happened so far. Maybe better that I should distribute them and see if someone else might be interested in seeing about having more made. For now supplies are limited, so get 'em while they're hot!

Sunday's show was fun, weather turned out better than expected and the lot was pretty full! Anders, Chad, and I were there to provide some diesel presence, and even though we were parked off to one side, more than a few people stopped to look under the hoods of the three cars.

A lot of other good entries this year, too, including a mold-covered Saab 96 with a 2-stroke motor that had ventilated its block on a recent 24 Hours of Lemons race. It got to the meet in tow behind a second, equally moldy 4-stroke 96 in the same color. Quite the pair! Also plenty of other nice RWD bricks on display, of course, as well as a new V60 wagon. I didn't get any pictures this year, unfortunately, but maybe one of the others will have a couple.

We talked about the IPD Garage Sale in Portland as a possible next gathering point, coming up in May. Let's keep in touch and see what kind of group we can get together then!

There was a lot more cars there then I expected, but was hoping for more diesels.

I would love to do the IPD garage sale, get a few diesel cars to cruise down there together..
