Default 940 Headlight bulbs?

As the title states i am hoping someone can help. 1995 d24tic

My 940 has a separate area for high beam and front fogs on lights. All listings state h4 bulbs for dipped beam and high but surely this is not the case as you would have a high beam filament with dipped engaged on the 940 set up.

At the moment the main bulb comes on low(dipped) with the side Dlr lights all the time. It looks awful, like a candle. Really want to change these bulbs and perhaps disengage the lower setting as the side dlr's are more than enough.

So is it h4's or something else? Its got me confused.

Thanks
Mick

Wish we had gotten those lamps here but we never did so have no good info to offer sadly.

Our US model cars had US DOT spec plastic lens lamps during those years that had a much poorer beam pattern design and tend to craze/fade. Guys here pay big money to get lights like yours shipped over. :P

Maybe try one of the UK or Euro Volvo boards? Or maybe a member here will know, perhaps ask member "jpliddy" who has a similar year UK spec 940.
