sorry again .
you call it the smoke adjustment screw with the locknut . i understand this will effect the idle ticke over which will also need to be adjusted ! to keep ticker about 750 RPM

What do I think, you asked?

I think we are getting away from the subject of this thread "Cold start."

How about starting a new thread, call it "Mileage dropped," or "Low power," or "Sluggish acceleration," or whatever best describes this problem.

Clearly state the symptoms, and everything you have done or tried so far.

Thinking of those who may visit in the future, looking for info in a logical system.

Sorry, I have gotten pulled along in this as well, will try to do better in the future.

hi all
i removed the smoke screw cover cap only to see the crimped washer still in place so with this not being removed does that mean the smoke screw is in the same place as before it was removed to fit the throttle shaft ? as im pretty sure the garage has not put a new one on at this moment !
