Best Coolant

What is everyone's preferred coolant?

I've been running the Prestone Green 50/50 all these years, but I noticed that some other coolants specify European, etc...

Is my coolant fine, or is there a better option for the D24 platform?

My preferred coolant is strictly ZEREX G5

Automaker approved for Ford Chrysler Mercedes Heavy Duty DIESEL.
I have the 50 50 premix but I also keep a gallon of pure G5 for adjusting into colder season without having to take too much coolant out.

It is a gold bottle... finally available in nearly any auto store. That wasnt the case a few years ago.

I recently bought a d24t that was serviced by Volvo and the coolant was interestingly a blue color. Probably at Volvo they still make their own antifreeze? Not sure.

The G5 isnt expensive. For a full cooling system fillup though a d24 needs about 5gallons I think.

Greenbook specs coolant capacities 10.5 - 12.5 quarts. Roughly 3 gallons. Depends the radiator size and transmission.

Correct, it is 3 gallons, not 5. Sorry for the mistake (I bought the 5 gallons for two cars)

ive been using volvo genuine coolant for 20 years on current D24 up to 274000 now not to expensive when you do it your self !!
