Default 940 front seat belt latches compatability

Good afternoon chaps, have trouble with sourcing front seat belt latches for my 1994 940, no airbag model.

Mine are shot, buttons crumbling and starting to not latch all the time.
Does anyone know if a straight swap with a later model Volvo?
They just need the connector for the seat belt warning and accept the original 940 buckle.
Thanks in advance

Not sure about compatibility but I think that's a fairly common problem. For those type of general Volvo issues you might get more/better/faster answers at turbobricks.com. Just don't tell them it's a D24 unless you want to subject yourself to insults and other bashing.

Thanks for the tip, I had considered it, but was reluctant for the same reasons.
I guess they don't need to know she's a sooty beast 😂

Yeah I wouldn't mention it. They'll probably ding you anyway for it being a what they call a "grandpa car" (7 or 9 series)

I think I might of got away with it!
Did a whole load of searches (only took a couple of hours) over there and came up with the following.
Clips from an 850 are a direct replacement
Clips from things like the s70,C70,V70, are the same fitment as the 850,except the warning lamp connection would need splicing in off my 940 wiring.
So thanks again for the turbo bricks suggestion, it was a massive help and I even avoided the barrage of abuse!
Off to the breakers to find one of the above models the weekend
Cheers guys!

Great info, thanks for reporting back.

Seems like those later models always have the broken buttons, good to know there is a fix.

Little extra info
Turns out I've actually got 740 seats in my 940, obviously a previous owner swaped them out for whatever reason.
Anyway, after finding a 940 in the breakers for comparison (unfortunately without serviceable replacements) I offered up the 850/V70 etc style and they do in fact bolt to the 940 seats.
So now I'm sporting a heavily modified 850 clip whilst looking for suitable 940 seats so I can retro fit 850 style clips for future longevity seat belt life.
Basically, if they look like 850 clips, they'll fit a 940, just need to splice the wiring connection in to suit.
Hope that makes sense guys.
