1985 Volvo 745 $1,500
Getting out of the IDI game and need to sell my Volvo. The engine runs great! The car is in average condition for its age. The body is in great shape, the interior has some aged and cracked plastic and needs a new driver's side door card as you can see in the pictures.
I just installed new taillights so all that rear lighting is perfect. I do NOT want to haul this to pick-n-pull so if you want it I'll sell it for $1,500. I have it on Craigslist for $2,500. Located in Reno, NV Attachment 2031V 10.jpg V 8.jpg V 12.jpg

Nice looking wagon, one of the rare '85s with D24T and manual in a wagon body -- a one year only combo.
Sorry to see you leave the IDI fold but hope it found a good home. And hope you invited the new owner to join us here for any info or resources they might need to continue keeping it on the road! Curious your reasons for forsaking the IDI engines at this point, considering you clearly are highly knowledgeable of them? Summertime travel in the mountains too much effort to stay cool? Are you transitioning to TDI cars or something else?

Answer to your question....
Don't all good stories begin with, "There's this woman....."
I'm moving out of the country, wisely or foolishly, I don't know yet. I did learn a tremendous amount of information from you and others on this form and I really appreciate the knowledge contained here. I'm going to be driving all new vehicles from now on. This is what she said, "Just throw that old stuff away, we will buy newer better stuff."

Well, of all the reasons to walk away from a fleet of old and well-loved vehicles, that is probably one of the better ones.
All the best in your next endeavors, sounds like an exciting new chapter. It will be interesting to hear how you like driving new vehicles, versus older, simpler machines.... I know for me, I'm happy enough in cars made up to about ~2005, but beyond that, when touch screen dashboards and whatnot really began to take hold and become ubiquitous (as well as backup alarms/cameras, blind spot and lane departure alarms, CVT transmissions, pushbutton start and transmission control, digital instrument clusters, fake engine noises through the interior speakers, etc, etc), they become hard for me to tolerate from behind the wheel, let alone contemplating the effort of keeping them on the road for the long term. But the advantages may well outweigh the annoyances of course. And with the EV transition that is under way now, in some ways simplicity may be coming back. Stop back in for a visit sometime in the future and let us know your impressions! Great to have had all of your participation in this group over the years.
