Clutch removed...what a pile of sh..t!
I finally removed gearbox and clutch, what a mess inside:... big oil leak from valve cover had trashed clutch and flywheel, lot of blue spots and areas on flywheel and pressure plate surfaces...previous owner did take little care about a thing so easy to fix, damn lazy!
Input shaft bearing on gearbox also is worn...it has around 2mm of play on shaft... I hope shaft will be not worn due to bearing play...Do you know the part number for that bearing please? I will remove flywheel tomorrow, Do you think is possible a flywheel resurface or just getting a new one? Notice that one of the flywheel bolts is not correct...another proof of the little care stupid mechanics had with this engine... =( Last edited by Ekus; 03-17-2016 at 12:17 PM. |

There is a VW 4 speed that seems likely.
Measure your pilot bearing and the pilot on the transmission input shaft, there are a couple sizes, and the previously mentioned mechanics may have mix n matched. |

I finally removed those gearbox bearings and could see their number references. It was necessary to disarm the whole gearbox for removing the input shaft bearing, what a pain in the ass! Gearbox has five tappered roller bearings, i will go to change all of them.
