Default LT cab windshield glass availability?

Perhaps one of the overseas members with better knowledge of the LT truck chassis and body can advise on this.

For a work related project I am in the market for a heavy truck, and one that fits my specs just turned up for sale nearby. It is something I had never heard of before, a Kenworth K300 from the mid 1990s that uses a cab based on the VW LT design and manufactured in Brazil. The mechanical platform shares nothing with the LT, but the interior, body, etc, are identical. A picture of a similar truck is below. As you can see, the front looks just like an LT.

The problem is that the windshield glass in the truck I am looking at needs to be replaced, and none of the dozen or so glass suppliers I have spoken with is able to get a replacement windshield for it. Since the LT was never available here and apparently only very few of these Brazilian cab trucks were sold, I am concerned this could be just one of many parts that will be hard to find for keeping the truck on the road.

Those with LT vans: have you been able to source new windshield glass at any time in the last few years? Is this a part that is hard to find here in US but readily available overseas? Or is it discontinued worldwide?

Nevermind. I found a few in stock. Have to pay $250 shipping to get it brought in from a special warehouse in Arizona apparently.

In case anyone in the US with an LT van ever needs one of these windshields, for reference the part number for the windshield glass is DW1050. They are still being produced and are hard to find but available. It fits American/Brazilian Kenworth K300 and Peterbilt 200 "Mid-Ranger" from 1987-1999, some Brazilian M.A.N. truck cabs, and all first generation VW LT.

Default Windshield website in case you need info

In case someone needs extra info or wants to read details about windshields... or simply see beautiful rare cars/trucks every vehicle is RED!

When I seached for windshields I remember saving this site bc they happen to have nice pictures of exact vehicle models and actual prices with molding and other parts also offered etc, with or without installation/delivery. https://www.autoglas-concurrent.nl/e...volkswagen/lt/

BTW, my brother in Europe was quoted about $280-320 worth of local currency for an LT windshield for the 1986 LT35 (about two yrs ago, without installation).

Nice, that is an informative link. Funny they made all the vehicles red like that.

I found yet another option for sourcing this windshield in the US. A supplier in Spokane WA quoted me $175 for the glass only, picked up. That's even better than what it's costing in Europe based on what your brother heard. Surprising for such a low volume part. I expected to pay an arm and a leg for it, if I could get one at all.
