Default Volvo V6 TD engine ?????

I did a wheel alignment check on my 940 at work yesterday using a Hersburg 4 wheel alignment computor system and while setting up the specs on the computor I found a setting for a 940 with a V6 2.4 td engine. I've never heard of or come across any reference to a V6 td for the 940's. Was a V6 available (perhaps for export models) and if so, does anyone know about this engine? The only 6 cylander engine's I know of are the 3.0 petrol V6, and the VW LT6.

Ya its the D24T, its listed incorrectly as v6. Maybe they couldn't imput I6 in the computer as an engine configuration.

Hi Jason, no, it had listings for D24 non turbo, D24T, D24Tic and D24Tic V6. Probably a programing error, which is a pity as a V6 TD would be a cool engine to have.

I just found out what that engine is. Its an Audi built 2.5 V6 24 valve direct injection turbo diesel, 177 bhp. It was a limited availability, extra cost option for certain '95 940/960 models and only available in certain European countries, apparently it was a "stop gap" engine due to a temporary "production difficulty" with the petrol V6, and was never marketed in the US or UK. Sounds like one hell of a nice engine.
