Default A/C and blower motor quit after running 30+ min

Having a strange issue, the ac and blower quit working after the car has been running/ a/c on but it has to be for 30 or 40 min of driving before it quits. The compressor isn't engaged and the blower doesn't run in any of the positions, low, auto, hi, or economy. However, it kicks on in defrost mode, and the compressor kicks in.. Kept driving on the way home and as I was looking around under the hood the compressor engaged and the blower started working. Same thing that happened this morning. Prob took a good 10 min before it started working again. No burnt fuses that I found (and obviously if a fuse was burnt it wouldn't start working again on its own. Is there a breaker in line somewhere that could be getting tripped or getting weak that resets itself?

Hi Jason
I'm not overly familiar with the stock system in the 760s as it wasn't a common option here in the UK. But does the system use an external temperature sensor of any sort to stop it from running when it's cold outside?

That I'm not sure.. You'd think the blower would still work on it's own in economy mode even if said sensor wouldn't allow the ac to engage because of a defect of some kind..

I agree that should in theory just disengage the compressor... it was only a thought. Do you think a wiring diagram would help? I can try and get one if you don't have one for that car.

I have one although it's rather hard to follow. There is Def a relay that clicks somewhere over on the right side of the dash when the fan comes back on and AC kicks in again. I need to run it till it quits again and see if I still have power at the fuse. Maybe that relay is getting weak..

If it's similar to the aftermarket kit my brother had on his 740 there was a relay behind the glove box somewhere maybe mounted to the blower housing or the ducting. Let us know what you find. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful
