Default leaky tacho cable !!

hi everyone,

hope y'all doing fine ! I couldnt be happier with my car, after having been on the edge of complete catastrophe several times, it just runs perfect!!

but I have another oily issue now. last time i did a clutch job, and i forgot to remove the cable from the transmission . now the is oil dripping from the cable...i ordered the o ring gasket but i cannot understand how to open the.. i dont know how to call the metal part that goes into the transmission, at the very rear of it? it's a cylindrical part

anyway, if anyone has an idea, i could also seal the hole in the transmission (i will not know my exact speed, but i need to run the car everyday now!)

Guessing it is an earlier M46 transmission with cable speedometer takeoff?

Maybe these links help?
