Default Complete removal and refit of d24tic engine in 940?

Hi Everyone,

As the titles states i am curious about how feasible it is to remove the engine complete from a 940 with the pump on?

It would reduce the amount of specialist tools needed and i have a friendly reliable garage who will lift it out for a fair price. I can then rebuild the top end and do the timing etc nice and easily before refit.

Not much different or difficult than for a gasser engine, except for the slightly higher weight and length than the more common Volvo 4-cylinders.
Can be easier overall to pull the engine and transmission connected. Helps to remove the grille and radiator which creates a large opening in front. You probably already found the easy way to open the hood 90 degrees. No need to remove the IP as there is enough space between it and the firewall in the 7xx/9xx to tilt the engine for R/R. Use a Load Leveler FTW.
