Antifreeze. Which flavour?
Having recently completed a top end rebuild on my Volvo 940, I filled the cooling system with plain water and that's how I ran it for the past 3 weeks. I wanted to ensure there were no leaks and the engine run ok before I put expensive antifreeze in it as I bought the car as a non runner. My question is, what colour antifreeze is most suitable for this engine as there seems to be so many different flavours nowdays?

Regular Water isnt good so i guess you used distilled water at the least.
I run my brick with Zerex G 05. I never tried the 'flavour' lol but It is great stuff. You can buy it premixed fifty fifty... or the pure Zerex if u prefer to do the mixing yourself. https://valvoline.com/products/brand.../antifreeze/42 Last edited by RedArrow; 05-15-2015 at 07:31 PM. |

I'm a fan of the gold Zerex (G-05) as well.

I'm of the opinion that all the real coolants are great stuff, but blends or 'universal' will get you in trouble.
