Default d24t short or longblock

hey guys, building a 240 td at the moment. as i am sure you know, the 240 diesel blocks are missing oil squirters and as i have herd are made from a less strong alloy(not so sure, but still). mainly i just need the block itself. but having a spare head, crank, rods, pistons and oil pan would be great. i am in Ohio, i know theres not a whole lotta people around with this stuff near me. but ill pay for shipping as long as its not outragus. i am in collage, not a whole lotta money, my build is going to be pieced out over time. so the cheaper the better lol.

I've got a D24T '85 bottom end. Gonna need oversized pistons.

Just run the NA block. You will be fine. Get an EGT gauge and watch it so you don't melt a piston or two, that would be hard to do though.. You don't need much boost with a good intercooler to cleanly burn all the fuel your IP can pump out.

well the plan is to build up pretty much everying, including the ip. want to make as much power as i possibly can. it will cost alot but id like to do it right the 1st time. thats the reason i want the block. i can just throw a turbo at it, and run it just fine for awhile. but i want to build it up. planning a compund turbo t3 and hx40, 12mm injector head with some other pump parts, 155 bar injectors with GTD nozzles, complete ground up engine rebuild, headstuds and a new mls headgasket and a t5 behind it so i can have better gearing and a real 5th gear. throwing all of that at it i would like the added oil squirters, and i do plan on pushing alot of boost. if i do not find a block the i will just build the na block, but want to have every little bit of help i can get. throwing all this money at it (about 2k all in all) want it to have the best chance possible.

I have a D24T block in Colorado that you can have for free. The catch is that it's already bored .040 over and the cylinders are pitted due to having sat with the head off, so it will need to be sleeved back to standard bore size and new pistons installed. However, it's fine otherwise.... if you want to pay shipping it's all yours.

Member Hecklebone has a set of 6 new standard size turbo pistons w/rings that he was looking to sell...

Default I have one...

There is a 745TD in my garage right now with a shortblock that turns over freely. It sat in a dank garage for years w/ no head, so the bores are rusty, will need bored at least .5mm. It spun a belt, so crashed the valves. But it is a block, crank, rods. I'm swapping in a used engine from a 760 auto, so will be keeping the flywheel, and all the spare parts, like IP, turbo, oil pump, cooler etc.

I expect to get the old shortblock out in the next few weeks. You can have it in exchange for some good root beer (there are several good varieties at Trader Joes).

Located just north of Lancaster OH. Email me through the forum link.
