Default Last year 940 with original D24TIC+ZF

Okay.
So my last bought, and my daily driver is 944 from -96,
so its very last d24-diesels. Registered on november.
694'500 kilometers / 434´000 miles ( ) on odo, but seller told me at engine
has been build all over not so long time ago.
And i dont have hard time to believe him, since this
dont have any blow-by when idling, not at all. And after driving
motorway and opening oil cap when motor is still running, theres
just normal blow-by any engine would construct.

Old Taxi, so theres no accessory. Just ABS.
EGR and catalytic converter included. Tho im going to get rid of those.
Smoking quite a bit when full throttling even i havent done anything yet to
pump.

Plans are to change turbo during winter to bigger, and
get 12mm head to pump. There might be compound setup..

Best thing was, at i actually didnt pay anything for this car
Some insane guy changed it with "head to head" for 89 760 with b230ft, which was blowing motor in any minute it was running,
and climate got broken, and windshield would have needed to change before annual control, and had rust here and there. Best change ever!

Then for two big +:sses before pics.

1. Original IC died while ago, and who owned car back then, didnt have money to original IC. So, theres now sitting big chinese IC, which is alot better
than original

2. Finnish law. We have here smoke-tests once a year.
Our k-limit ( meaning how much engine at max can smoke)
is 3.0. But, we have exeption which include all autotrans d24's.
Maximum running-rpm for that test is just 1500rpm with ZF, so its
instant win always on SMOG

And pics.

DIY turbotimer, adjustable from 4sec to 10min ( even more if add potentiometer to it).
Total cost including wires, connectors, switch, relays etc etc. 35$.
Picture about turbotimers "ecu". This car is actually project, but moving forward slowly.
Aiming to get it ready on spring 2012.

Sharp looking 940.... Envious. We never got those headlamps in the US either. They are highly sought after over here.

Must be pretty quick with the ZF and the big IC.

Well, not fast enough. Still running only 0.6bar pressure, wont make huge difference to add extra 0.4bar
with t03, not a rocket even then.
What kind of headlamps US spec 940 then had? Curious to know..

More done, little upgrade. EGR is nowadays just illuminate- not working anymore.. Ops.
Having 450k kilometers driven ZF and d24tic block on sight. I should be able to buy those
on october, then starting to build new technic for spring.

Default Litlle exterior upgrade

I was shopping some today..
Bought something cool adds to my car.
Firstly, clear-glass side-markers to rear, and rear-light panel between lights, original.
Going to paint rear-lights all around to red with red-coat.

And since i had problem, what rims to run next summer, since you see im now running steelies+
capsels, i bought set of Gemini's.

So, little update to this car

Thanks alot!

You dont have towing hitches for 740/ 940 in USA? Since they are same ones. I have even one
extra towing hitch standing on my garage. It would only need sand-blowing and new paint if want it perfect,
but im hunting one which is deattachable. Been on 960's atleast on europe.

Anyways, was on little trip for one night, and came back with proven set of Geminis ( will put them under on tuesday )
and one broken Bosch VE6, which dont form suction, so it wont fill with diesel. I get it really cheap, and im just
using it as spare-part pump, and to learn myself how it really works, going to detach it.
Good for practicing changeing distributor head and camplate.
Also test-drived technic from 940 with d24tic+ZF, which im going to buy when the guy who owns it
will start to rip it apart on end of october. Then i have extra engine which i start to build up during winter,
will start topic to projects for that engine build-up when its time.

Oh, and 29.5 miles per gallon it drinked.
