Governor mod
Has anyone shimmed their governor and to what effect?
I've got a spare governor ready to be shimmed but am hesistant as I don't want it to rev too high if the wheels slip or something Is it worth doing? Can it over rev like crazy and ruin all my Hopes and dreams? Thanks |

My 1982 has a shimmed governor spring, I love it. I shimmed the spring about 1.5mm. With that minimal shimming it doesn't bring the redline up too much but it does let the pump fuel more into the higher rpm range.
