245D6Plastic
Hello all,
Some time ago I found an old 245 D6, always wanted to save an old car from being scrapped to I decided to use this one. I always try to avoid the most ''economical'' choice and go through the most frustating process in order to learn as much as possible Already did quite some maintenance, welded the car back together, new suspension bushings everywhere, new brakes, lines and ofcourse timing belt, pump belt, filters and fluids. Binned the interior as it was quite moldy (had been standing somewhere since 1999, with rust holes in the doors and under the rear windows) but I don't mind, its nice sitting in a steel cage. Last week it went through the technical checks and is now road legal and (almost) road-worthy, the first 500 kilometers are a fact. Even though I did a lot of maintenance, I already found some issues with the engine, which is why i registered here ofcourse I'll save the details here and make a new topic in the designated area, here are some pictures of the process. It's always a pleasure to read about a 245 D6 that survives.
An unbeatable engine/body combination! |
