It's always funny how headlight swaps are. Over here, "e-code" European headlamp sets are always sought after to replace the stock US equipment. Meanwhile in other parts of the world US headlight sets are often desirable as replacements for the original European equipment. The grass is always greener on the other side!

The early generation 740/760 is one of the few cases where I agree the US setup actually does look better than the Euro market lights. More commonly (IMHO) the opposite is true. For the facelift (1990+) 740/940 cars the European glass lights perform far better than the cheap plastic lens DOT lamps we had here during that time, and are much better looking also to my eyes. Same goes for the late 240 series and its plastic lenses. In most cases you guys in the rest of the world got the nicer stuff.

Used early 4-headlamp 740 US headlight sets are not at all rare here, probably any number of us could ship you a set if you want to put them in. Plenty of old 740s in the junkyards here with the lamp buckets, and the various plastic lenses are cheap to buy new aftermarket, though finding good used OE lenses is getting harder now.
