Electric fan - Thermal switch - How to?
Hi.
I have made a descision, to install an Electric fan on my 740. A new visco-fan-clutch costs about 400usd here in Denmark So the cheapest solution would be installing an electric fan. Is there anyone of you guys, who has a electric fan installed? Where have you placed the thermal switch? In the original radiator, there are two ways of fitting an original thermal switch (according to VADIS). On the top in the passenger side, switch-pins pointing backwards. Or on the top in the drivers side, switch-pins pointing to the left (part no: 1274962 - temp: 92-87C). But these are only in use, if the vehicle is fitted with A/C There is also the possibility of fitting an thermal switch adapter on one of the radiator hoses top/bottom? I hope some of you guys have a "recipe" for fitting a electric fan on the D24T. I don't want to risk running hot, while experimenting with different thermal switches and so on /Dennis, from Denmark… |

Saabs like the 900 have a fitting that fits upper or lower hose, but you usually want to use the other temp switch from the same car, it's a different temp.
I think the clutch from a redblock Volvo bolts up though. |

1st thing I do is remove clutch fans I favor of e-fans. I have my temp probe In The radiator core. Fan comes on at 190 degrees.
