correct value on the dial without having to move the pump?!
Hello everyone! Hope you are doing well!
My project (which is , as you know it, very humble : put back the car on the road) went through many ups and downs, but is close to be finished. the pump O gasket was dead, a river of gasoil started to flow from the pinion of the pump. Fortunatly, a 86 240 was to be sold , at 40km from my home. 4 years ago, the pump had a rebuilt from the best dieselist of the country (800€!) . It is like new. For 300€, I took many valuable parts, and that pump was the gem of this now dead car. So I installed it, and while following the procedure, I end up with a value of 0.79 on the dial (of good quality) . I just aligned the three marks. So my question is; how come I did not have to move the pump at all ? I thought the manipulation of the pump around its axle after the alignement of the marks was mandatory after a removal I wish you a wonderfull sunday. well , after having forgotten to screw the oil strainer to the pump once all was done, after having screwed (pun) 10 times the timing of my old pump, this would be a tangible proof of the existence of karma
