There are a long list of differences from d24 to d24t.
The d24 crank has 2 drive cogs for the oil pump vs 4 for the d24t crank, reason being is the d24t oil pump is a higher volume for the oil supply for the turbo and pistons Cooling jets.
The pistons are notched on the d24t engines for the cooling jets, might be made from a different aluminum composition also.
The cylinder heads are different, I'm not sure what's different on them but they have different casting numbers.
Exhaust valves are different
Cam is different
The blocks are different, the d24t has the cooling jets (but these could be added to a NA block with machine work)

That being said I would not have a problem running a d24 plus turbo as long as EGT's are in check.
