Thanks guys.

I will check the t-stat. It has been baked a couple of times with this over heating. My gauge does not have temp on it, just green and red ranges.
I will look into a gauge with actual values on it.
I'm dubious of heat soaking the intercooler. It takes about three gallons of coolant with the long run and it doesnt really get that warm.

Could be a very valid point about blocked passageways in the radiator. I have taken it out and water would run out as fast as i could put it in. I have not run it with the nose off for a feel test for cold spots. Wish i had a thermal camera to take a look at it.

My fuel tank and the engine block cooling passageways were filled with junk. I gather the TDs fom JSOC sat for a number of years before being shipped back to the states. Cleaning, patching and sealing my fuel tank was a real pain, but it seems sorted now.
No reason to think there is less junk in the radiator.
New radiator, direct fit, seems to run about $800. Hoorray.

The app i use for tracks is below. Used to be able to download maps before you went out on the road. Google, MS and others cracked down on that bit.
