Aha, an automatic 240 diesel wagon. The D24 and BW55 combo moving the heavier wagon body... this was the slowest and lamest diesel Volvo model and spec ever available in the US.
Actually they are not that bad if running well. At least around town. I drove one once after working on it and was surprised to find it was completely tolerable. No worse than an equivalent year Mercedes diesel wagon without turbo. Wouldn't be any fun on a long highway hill though.
That one looks like a recent insurance auction buy based on the key hung around the steering column. Presumably a donation after sitting for years or decades. It looks pretty clean and worth an attempt to save. Maybe just need the fuel system flushed and primed... Or maybe needs a lot more.
