Injector nozzle wear is not the only factor in excess smoke. Also (more?) common are incorrect IP timing, and IP misadjustments (specifically the smoke screw and LDA settings).
During your injector rebuilding process you are mainly looking to equalize POP pressures, good spray pattern, and no dripping when held just under POP for 10 seconds.
Greenbook for D24T shows nozzle DNO-SD 293 for all markets except USA/Canada. D24TIC might be different?
