Sounds like a solid plan, one from a P-pump? That definitely should be able to do it. Would be great if you can share a picture of how you set it up afterwards, in case someone else ends up needing to do it later.
This is a D24T in a LR Discovery? Got some pictures of the rest of the build?
Did you have to cut the firewall for clearance at the back of the motor?
