Thanks for the input and advice. It's in an 04 discovery. Using discovery compressor. It's a nippondenso compressor. Volvo compressor wouldn't fit and wanted to avoid custom hoses etc. Think Volvo unit is a sanden sd7. I've ordered the Cummins 5.9 shut off solenoid and will modify and wire it to the ac clutch circuit via relay etc. it's got enough power to pull the throttle lever without using the gas pedal to set it.
