I'm not a fan of MLS gaskets. They do hold up better because they don't wear or tear as the fiber gaskets do with the expansion/ contraction of the aluminum cylinder head, but this is also the downfall. With the expansion/contraction taking place the cylinder head is now the wear point. I have not seen this on any D24's as I have not worked on any with a MLS. I have seen it on many other engines using aluminum head/steel block.
I would spend the money on studs over MLS. I'm now 15,000 miles on 25+psi boost and studs with a 3 notch fiber. I think I will need to change the head gasket at 100,000 miles, but that's fine. I will know the cylinder head will be in good shape.
