Tools for Injection Pump Belt Change + other D24 work

Looking to start doing my own engine work on the D24 240 rather than taking it to a mechanic...I have the green book to work on the D24, but have none of the diesel specific tools. Anyone have any they are looking to sell or know where these can be purchased? Current project is to replace the Injection pump belt, so my immediate need are for tools...9995193-1 (Stop) , 9995194-9 (Holder) , 9995197-2 (Belt Tension Gauge) , 9995199-8 (Wrench), 9995201-2 (Wrench)

Some forum members loan them out. See Tool Rental.

IIRC (?) you have several D24 so it probably makes sense to have your own tools.

See them from time to time on ebay.

Sometimes an old-time Volvo shop may accept your offer to buy out their old set of D24 special tools as they realize they don't use them much anymore.

I have a full set of the tools that I am willing to loan out for free, details in the tool rental thread that was linked. Several others here also loan or rent them for reasonable rates (Volvoist I believe offers paid rentals). There may also be members who own tools but haven't listed them as available available there. Some of those members could be closer to you and may be willing to help. RedArrow (in NYC) I believe has at least a partial set.

As ngoma said your idea of buying your own set of tools may make sense especially if you plan on long term D24 ownership. If you are not in a hurry and can go piece by piece waiting for them to turn up at reasonable prices, you can do it without breaking the bank.

FWIW, some of the tools you mentioned needing could be skipped. The belt tension gauge is probably not much use, you're likely better off going by feel, and the "stop" lock pin is not needed often. For an IP belt installation the only tools you really need are the cam sprocket counterhold and wrench (9995199 and 5201) and the pump timing dial indicator and its holder and rod, which can be substituted with cheap and readily found VW items with only minor adaptations.

(edited for redundancy with the tool rental thread)
