timing and pump belts for 940
Hi people
I am going to have new belts fitted timing and pump. Anyone know how many hrs volvo recon to do this job |

You will be hard pressed to find a Volvo shop that would take on that job. You might be better off to find an independant mechanic or even better someone who owns D24 engines and already has the special tools involved as they are rare.

Well if you are in the neighborhood of Stonehenge that puts a different light on the mechanics that may be familiar with this engine :-)
I think it would take me at least 6 hours to do all of that. Make sure they replace the water pump too as it will have to be disturbed to properly tension the new camshaft timing belt. You may want to get glow plugs 5 and 6 replaced at the same time as it would be a piece of cake if the pump is removed although I'm not sure if you are having the pump replaced or just timed. Steve |
