This is a stock 740 intercooler, I'm going to mount into my 760.

I hear those intercoolers kinda suck and wont hold any boost above stock. I don't know what your performance goals are, but if you plan on turning up the boost you may want to consider another option. Not trying to shit on your parade or anything, but I would hate to see you spend the time mounting it in there only to have it blow apart!

It bet it will be just fine. probably fine for 15psi. And remember there is no compressor surge on a diesel engine, there is no throttle body to snap shut during shifting like a gasser. So I am positive it will work for 15psi.

The volvo stock intercooler can support up to 18PSI. http://people.physics.anu.edu.au/~am...ntercooler.htm

I have exactly the same intercooler in my 92 wagon as it started life with a B230FT and I retained the whole assembly when I switched to diesel.
I will be interested to see how this goes. Who knows, there might be a nifty way of routing the hoses from the turbo and back that would suit my limited capabilities.

Not saying it wouldn't work, for stock boost or a little extra it will be a nice upgrade. Most everyone on T-bricks bad mouths them. Like I said I don't know what your performance goals are. If your planning what I'm planning that intercooler will be in more than one piece!

When the weather warms up I've got a set of ARP head studs calling my name!

I'm sure the intercooler is going to be fine. The only mods that I'm planning to do is putting the N/A intake and of course the intercooler.

Guys I have asked this before but why the N/A intake manifold?

What gains does it give you apart from the already advised easier pipe routing for Volvo's?

Pleaase xcuse the slight thread jack just really curious and as I have both a N/A intake and a TIC intake I want to know which ones better for my truck?

Longer runners on the N/A manifold make way for more low end torque. The larger (slightly over 3 inch) inlet makes for less restrictions for air getting into cylinders while not in boost. I noticed a noticable difference in just idling power when I swapped manifolds. I recommend getting the back side with the rubber cap of the manifold aluminum welded shut/capped off with some ports tapped into it to run the boost fuel control, boost guage, and wastegate. something I have yet to do.
