Default Volvo electric vacuum pumps

I just would like to let others know that model year 2001 volvos that were Turbo charged used an electric vacuum assist pump for the brakes. This works very well when hooked up with the vacuum switch and simple relay, totally bypassing the mechanical failing vacuum pump. Not only does it work better than the original one it allows you to permanently remove the old one allowing for better maintenance in the future.

Thanks, great to know! Are you using one? Who is going to make a batch of vac pump block-off plates?

Slobodan, could you provide a few more details about "hooked up with vacuum switch and simple relay". Pictures would be great if you could.

Thanks

I used a 1/4 inch plate steel cut to fit, with a couple holes drilled in it. boom block off plate.
