Default The forum is NO LONGER in danger of being shut down/deleted! Please read!

Everyone:

The forum license I purchased last year was only for one year, it expired on the 14th of June. Why the forum is still running I don't know, I'm guessing it slipped under the radar since its pretty small compaired to many. According to the contract, once your license expires your supposed to stop using the software, they can shut you down etc...

To upgrade to the version 4.0 with a indefinent license, its $175. (20 cheaper than buying to begin with since we are upgrading). I put out the first $200 for the forum software, purchased the domain name and pay the hosting each month out of pocket. I make NO profit from the forum other than the enjoyment of talking to other Volvo diesel folks. After just getting married, I am pretty short on funds and dont have the extra $175 right now. This is the first time I'm officially asking for donations. If even a 1/3 of the members here can spare 2 or 3 bucks, I can purchase the new version and it will be perminent with nothing to renew or pay for in the future. All I'll owe is the hosting each month. If I end up with extra, I'll use the money to buy a hosting package for 6 months or a year rather than paying month by month. You get a discount that way, as of right now its 9 bucks a month to host the site. If you have a extra couple bucks or so to donate, please paypal it to me: vwjunkie53@sbcglobal.net

I think for the members that are pretty active on here it will be a few dollars well spent to keep the forum going and growing! In hind site I should have bought the permanent license to begin with, but I didn't know if the forum was going to take off or be a dud!

Thanks for your support.

Jason

Thanks, I appreciate anything.

For those of you who donate, I'll probably make a change to your status from "senior member" to "senior supporting member" or something along those lines. A small detail but I think it should be represented that you helped out.

Sent you some cash, hopefully will help. How much more needs to be raised, and how soon do you need to have it by? Would be a shame to see this place get shut down when it has already become a great resource and is still growing fast. If it gets down to the wire and you're still short, let me know and I can probably throw in a few more bucks.

Got the money, thanks George! You didn't need to send that much. Like I said if just a few people sent a couple or three bucks it would be set. With what you sent, what I'm getting from Kevin, and what I got from Alex, we are up to $112. Need 175, but its not like I have NO money to throw in, I just don't have the extra $175. We will see how it goes over this weekend, usually it seems the forum has more traffic. I haven't gotten any emails or anything from vbulletin about the software, but I don't want to push my luck. If they shut it down fine, but if the database got deleted that would be a huge loss.

I don't have much, but I'll donate a few dollars. I'll send it your way tomorrow (or later today, however you want to look at it).
