Turbo component
I'm questioning my self about the next component fixed on my turbo and maybe someone can answer:
What is it? Is this important? Can I remove it? Do I need it if I intercooled my D24t Can I upgrade it? Thanks, sebas |

The picture shows the EGR system which is Exhaust Gas Recirculation. It is an emissions control to reduce the nox gasses in the exhaust. Vehicles of that age are not usually subject to any emissions control so you can disconnect it, remove it, blank it off etc. I doubt you will notice a change in power but its one thing less to worry about. You may get a gratifying feeling that you are getting more power by not burning exhaust gasses but only clean air in your engine. It may not be working anyway. If you disconnect it, blank off the vacuum line.

Your picture shows a very typical d24T installation. Not sure if I understand your question. Which sensor?

This switch senses the boost inlet pressure and turns on a dash warning light should it get too high. I think it only goes to 12 psi .If the waste gate is working right it should never function. I admit that mine on my conversion is not connected. Its only for a warning light and many people wish to up their boost pressure, especially if they want to add an inter-cooler so you may wish to disconnect yours. I have seen that some people remove the switch and convert the hole for a return port from the inter-cooler.

That sensor also is a dump valve. If you do raise your boost up you will have to plug the dump port, or take it off all together and plug it.
