Default Governor mod

Has anyone shimmed their governor and to what effect?

I've got a spare governor ready to be shimmed but am hesistant as I don't want it to rev too high if the wheels slip or something

Is it worth doing? Can it over rev like crazy and ruin all my
Hopes and dreams?

Thanks

My 1982 has a shimmed governor spring, I love it. I shimmed the spring about 1.5mm. With that minimal shimming it doesn't bring the redline up too much but it does let the pump fuel more into the higher rpm range.

Nice! Bitta first hand experience!

All I find is how tos on shimming it solid, I'll have a go at stiffening it up

Thanks Anders
