Same here.I would need one too if someone knows the source. If 1980 and 1984 240 d24 n.a. cars used the same then i need more than one. Im in NY as well. Thanks.

It's a regular o-ring. Should be able to take it to a local o-ring supplier and have them match it up. Viton would be a good material.

A regular O-ring will work but makes the installation significantly harder, since a circular O-ring wants to jump out of the groove when you go to put the pump on the head unless you use some really sticky grease on it. The Volvo/Audi part has an oval shape that makes it much easier to work with.
Volvo sells the O-ring cheaply (I think $5 last time I got some?) and Audi likely stocks it too since these vacuum pumps continued to be used on gasser Audis here into the 1990s. Volvo dealer should be able to find it for you if you call but if they have trouble, I probably have the part number somewhere too...

Who knows, but it looks just the same round shape as the one I could get from the local HW store or local o-ring supply house for like a $1 or so.

vacuum pump o-ring
I haven't found the source yet, I`d need four of them if some of you successfully ordered it recently.
The grey gasket-maker sealant paste worked but I`d like to have it right. |
