Default Hello all.

Nice site. Im gonna need you guys. I have an 83 NA 245. I just purchased an 84 760 GLE D24T. The car was a rats nest, but the guy I bought it from said he had purchased a junkyard engine and that the guy he hired to put it in could not get it running. 5 years ago. I pulled, and tore the engine down, and has double ring grooves. The upper ring was along only for the ride. Anyway I need oversized pistons. At least .50mm, maybe bigger. I am having some trouble finding these, and hop you guys can help me. The idea is to put it in the 245. I want this car as a daily driver, but I also would like 200 horses.
Thanks
Dennis

Yeah. I have a line on some through this forum. There is some debate from what I have read as to whether they are VW 1.6T or D24T or both depending on the oil squirter notch.

Yeah your right. The debate is about the position of the notch in the piston between 1.6, and 2.4 for the wristpin oil squirter. Im pretty sure there the same though.

No they are not the same. The notch is in a different position. However its my understanding that pistons available now have 2 notches to cover both applications.
