Default Destroyed by cousin..

Well, the volvo is dead for sure. My cousin was borrowing it earlier tonight and apparently tried to dodge a deer (which I don't believe) and spun out and hit a tree backwards at highway speeds. the back window is smashed out and the frame is heavily bent and the back doors aren't really shut anymore. He is gonna pay me for it but if anyone wants to help him recoup some of the costs by buying some of the parts or the whole car.

What do you think I should charge him for the car?

Wow that sucks, sorry to hear. Thats pretty low miles and a wagon. What did you pay for it? You should at least get that back out of it and if you dumped alot of money in it to get it running, add some of that into the total too.

Whats going to happen with the motor/tranny?

I am trying to build up my inventory of parts so I can rebuild engines and have engines/ everything to convert from gas to diesel in 240 cars.

I'm going to need a diesel radiator for a 244 gl, and a breather box for the same....

I probably need the breather box more though.

None of the stuff on this car will fit yours, unfortunately. The one in this thread is a 700 series and you have a 240. Virtually no parts are interchangeable between them.

Josh, I may be interested in some parts or potentially the entire car. How soon do you need it to go away?

Never hurts to ask. My learning curve is more of a spike at this point.

This would be a perfect package of parts if you wanted to convert a gasser to diesel.
It could work even for a late 940.

Well, I don't absolutely have to have it gone immediately... plus I won't be back up in Molalla (where the car is) for another couple weeks. Make and offer I guess and I'll talk to my cousin about it

it depends on the value of the care in your state and for sure was the car stage 0 or needed work?

in Europe a 745 (petrol) is worth from 1000€ to 3000€ and a Diesel from 1500€ to 4000€

so in USA i believe cars are cheaper so from 600USD to 2500USD or so....

check your local used cars market for pricing
