I have 4 of those relays on my shelves.
They all died this way. It's typical and i saw this problem on several cars i bought for parts 200 700 from different places. I just bought a huco 132071 to replace mine. It's normal. It's just wear on the contacts, they heat up and stick together leading to a constant feeding of the glowplugs. Battery goes low and you don't start anymore. 6 glowplugs sucks 60 70 amps ....

well i replaced the relay with the good one i was kindly sent and it now works fine, so i need to come to an arrangement with doingitsideways (that your name on here steve?) regarding payment. for future reference if anyone has this problem that's solved it for me!

Thanks for the followup post, that helps!
Looks like I had misread your symptom description originally-- did not realize the GP relay was energizing the GPs for infinite time. Thought it was energizing at each start, then clicking off.
