Default Turbo back exhaust? Update!

Any recomendation for size, assuming your running the stock turbo? I was thinking 2.5" would be big enough, and would sound nice. Most all the aftermarket Ford/Dodge/GM diesel trucks run 4" as the standard aftermarket size for an upgrade. All those engines are more than double the displacement of the D24, it would seem to me that 2.5 would be plenty. Is that even a waste of time? Is it worth even building a bigger exhaust? I would straight pipe it no matter what, as I love the sound. Dumping the muffler should help it flow much better and drop EGTs I'm expecting.

years ago, I seen this "IPD'ed" '83 760 Turbo Diesel sedan. It was Silver with black accents... It just had a 2.5 straight through exhaust routed just the same as stock. And It sounded so freaking good. I don't know what happened to that diesel though... I really like it. Also had IPD sway bars on it. Manual trans. Converted to Bio diesel. And it was pretty powerful. never seen a rebuild either.

Stock D24T downpipe, then ballooned to 3" piping to side exit. No glass pack no mufflers, Just pipe.

Without having to custom make a exhaust, does anyone know who sells 3" exhaust for the 700 turbos?

It sounds freakin' great! Kinda like a little cummins. I have it steped up to 2.5" before the axle, then to a small piece of 3" then a 5" chrome tip to dump out the soot. The bigger you go, the deeper it is. I will do 2.5" turbo back once I have a different turbo. I'll have to post up some video.
