Default checking d24t from the junkyard

i've now gotten the d24t home from the junkyard, put it on a stand, and cleaned it up a bit. i have a replacement fuel filter i'll fill with atf. i have a replacement oil filter & oil. my question is: should i try to start and run the motor with no coolant or radiator attached if i'm just running it for a few seconds?

Just for a few seconds I would not worry about coolant. To actually "run" the engine I would add a radiator.

You should have no issue running it for a couple minutes to listen for bad noises, check oil pressure, etc..
