Default Standard operating idle? How to adjust?

Hey guys, I'm new to the D24T and the old style Volvos in general. After tampering with the max fuel a bit I have keenly decided to ensure the longevity of my engine by turning my max fuel screw down to just above peak lean, so that no smoke is present during driving/acceleration/high loads at low RPM. However I never knew what the standard idling RPM should be, since every pump adjustment I made made it sit between 900-1000 RPM. It is now around 750-800 which sounds and feels correct. Am I right? How is idle adjusted mechanically aside from this screw? Pictures are helpful, I am yet to buy the manual.
