idle tickover 940 tdi auto
hi all i have just adjusted the rev tickover on my 940 tdi auto 1995 to just over 900 revs can this cause any problems i did this by adjusting the slide pin with the ball end pin with the nut underneath.
engine runs a little higher at col start too now but soon drops back to 900 plus revs. reason i have done this it stops my alternator belt from bouncing so much that the life of the belt is shortened so much and teeth start to come of the belt . its been doing this for a long time so thought i would try try to fix it . i only moved this pin bout 4 mm . any comments most welcome |

Idle RPM should be around 750-775, I think.
Check the alternator bushings and replace them if necessary. It is available very cheaply. Last edited by RedArrow; 07-17-2016 at 02:03 PM. |

The brushes? or the bushings?
? none of those is a terrible job. You will figure it out, just look carefully at those detailed pictures and you will be confident doing it. http://www.volvooemparts.com/a/Volvo.../GR-59946.html Last edited by RedArrow; 07-17-2016 at 12:58 PM. |
