Default Coolant Temperature sensor defective?

Hi All
first sorry for the bad english. I dont know a lot about the english therms for engine-parts.
My Volvo 740 Diesel is causing me some problems.
it is leaking diesel from 3 of the nuzzels or what they are called and from the pump. it smokes and sow one....

but I will start by try to fixing the Coolant Temperatur sensor.
I think its a lose connection, because it stopped working when i was fixing something else, and because the wiring is terrible. Sow my question is simple. where is the sensor sow i can check the connection?

Where is the sensor?

If your talking about the temp sensor for the gauge, its just under the coolant hose going into the head at the front of the engine. There should be one wire going to it with a spade terminal on the end. The other sensor at the back of the head is for the glow plugs.

Well I don't really know how to use the picture to show you, though I'm sure you know where the top radiator hose is, the large one from the top of the radiator that goes to the cylinder head, and makes the bend around the alternator. Below that area and close to the front most glow plug is the sender.
