hi all just update
got new gasket from volvo today its as you said just round O ring so i will sea this . no leaks now since cleaning mateing faces and refitting gasket and thermostat that had only been on 2 years thanks again for your help

Good to hear it worked out.
The links in post #14 above should help you with your questions about heater hoses in your other thread. You can build replacement hoses from parts that are readily available and the result is a better setup than the original. But, you have to read the instructions carefully and go through it step by step in order to get good results on the first try. We're here to answer any specific questions you have after digesting the information in those threads.
