Very very well said. Hey, `History repeats itself` so i`m sure i`m gonna end up with a domestic animal (alias Rabbit), kind of very soon. Car is significantly smaller so there`s definitely more chance/room for (a) parts car(s). Disadvantages: more fixing=less fishing.

well...No time wasted, `double or nothing`- lol - I got the right one today. Not bad either.

So I ended up buying this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VW-546-Valve...286160?vxp=mtr

I do not have the cam in the head at the moment, or I would have tried it already. But I'm sure when it comes time I will be able to use it as a starting point and modify it to work on the D24T.

And on another note... I think I have reached the half way point on the rebuild. I honed the cylinders this weekend, and am hoping to get the block painted (GREEN) this week. Crankshaft bearings should be here at the begining of next week, so I can start putting it all back together then.

Nice paws!

Thanks for the pictures! It appears the OD is the same, but I will have to make the ID slightly bigger.

Oh Sh!t she`s always around, again, LOL, managed again* to show off. previous one happened when she freaking played football tossing around then hiding a small part while i was refurbishing the guitar. Sometimes worse than a dog. Very tiring...and bored I think.

Yes now i have a chance to see that our d24t tool is more beefy and it has a larger id clearly visible. Let me know IF you need exact measurements later...
**OD isn`t actually the same, crappy picture #4 was trying to show the difference. (Their handles were lined up side by side to illustrate this.)

Let me try posting a few more shots.

Loitering near the beer fridge I found a glass bottle in my spice rack that is an exact fit in there. Then caveman style I did the same with the 2574.
