Default If you want to get in on my shipment of hotrod VE pump parts, come take a look!

Hello everyone,
I just took apart one of my pumps tonight to inspect it to see if it was a usuable pump. It looks good and we are planning on installing it on Alex's car. We going to order a 12mm head and rotor, along with a 2.8mm cam plate. I'm going to order the same to have on hand to do another pump for my car. If anyone is interested, I can order some extras and we can save on shipping. This stuff is comming direct from the manufacturer over seas, so dividing up shipping would be nice. They are small parts, so its not gonna be crazy high, but comming from that far away, there is a minimum they charge on shipping to the US. Last price I had for the head was $44 and the cam plate was 12.50

Count me in Jason. I do not have a use for these parts now as I'm still in the process of repair and restore ... but I won't be forever!

Are $44 and $12.50 the prices for the parts themselves or for shipping?

Jim, just to be clear, these are the cummins 6bt specification pump parts, not the stock replacement stuff. The prices are for the parts, I'll be emailing them monday to get a shipping quote and current price. I doubt the prices would have changed much, but those prices were quoted a few months ago. I'll get back to you guys with the amounts and you can commit to buying then if you still want the stuff.

Sorry for my ignorance of VE mods- but can you summarize the advantages of these parts? Is there a certain horsepower level where these become beneficial?

I'm somewhat interested, but I'm generally pretty conservative in tuning because my primary consideration is reliability.

//edit: Sorry, looks like you already answered this very well here: http://d24t.com/showthread.php?91-Mo...=1632#post1632

Understood Jason, these are hotrod pump parts for a D24T, I'm in! However, I do have a question: why are they so cheap? I ask because you mentioned perviously "As of 12-21-09, rocken-tech quoted me $280 for a 12mm head and rotor, and $80 for the stock 2.8mm lift Cummins cam plate." Are the parts still coming from www.rocken-tech.com?

The quote is cited from this post: http://d24t.com/showthread.php?91-Mo...=1632#post1632

Thanks for looking into this, Jim.

The parts are much cheaper because we are buying them directly from the manufacturer in China... I know know... Chinese stuff doesn't have the best rep, but this plant supplies injector nozzles, pumps, parts, etc to many factories. They are the OE supplier to more than a few diesel engine brands. I have also talked to a few guys through the forum over in Europe that have run their head and rotor, and had great luck with them. The last guy I talked to is in a volvo club over there and they have been ordering lots of 10 at a time! They are using them on daily drivers and haven't had a problem yet. Granted they may not last 250k miles like a German Bosch part, but for 40 or 50 bucks rather than 300+, I'm sure I'll get my money's worth out of it.

The factory website is here:http://www.vepump.com/Distributor_Head.htm

Poke around a bit, I think you'll be impressed with the variety of parts they offer.

I'll let you guys know when I get the shipping and current price quote. This should be interesting, I cant wait to see what these engines will do with a 12mm head. That should support 300hp!

Ok I have the current parts quote, guys please let me know if your interested and I'll make the order. Current prices are:

Head/rotor assembly: $45
Cam disk: $15

Shipping for the entire order is $126!!! (ouch!) Alex and I are in for sure, so assuming you guys are in as well, we would have a total of 4 guys, (which is what I had them quote) so the shipping divided up would come to $31.50 each. All together you would be looking at 91.50 all together, plus a little shipping to get to your house from mine. I'm not sure what the shipping would be if you ordered it yourself, but I would expect more than $31 bucks to come all the way from China.

Let me know! I would like to get the order in this week. They will ship within two days.

Jason
