Default EGT's?

I just installed a boost and EGT gauge and the EGT's seem a little high, at full throttle it gets up to 1000 degrees fast and it smokes alot. i was just wondering if thats to high? and if so what would be my problem? the car has 320000k's and was very well maintaned and i havent messed with the pump so i dont know why it would be getting soo much fuel. (boost is at around 11psi)

Someone probably turned up the pump in the past. Either back the main fuel screw out some, or increase the boost to burn the extra fuel. Either option will decrease EGTs. However 1000 pre turbo isn't too hot to hurt anything.
