The '80 diesels, especially the wagons, are true oddballs. They have the early dash, early 11mm engines (if the engine is original), early tail lights, and some other unique things. Probably my favorite year on the diesels personally due to the fact that they are so unique and rare. I have owned a few, and have one currently. I have been wavering back and forth on whether or not to sell it...

early volvos have much more style and character
Also in Europe, i remember years 78-79-80-81 being the most interesting mixtures of Volvoism with unique color/interior/equipment variations and cool combinations of certain Volvo designs and styles. MANY more Volvos ran those days than now but still it was always extremely hard to spot 2cars that were the same or even look similar having nearly the same accessories, color, etc Nice times great bricks...That is when i got addicted to "older" Volvos. I personally love yr 1980 because that is when i was born.http://collectorcarpricetracker.com/.../320729943162/
